Why choose a barrel sauna instead of a cabin sauna?

The barrel shape has less air volume to heat, so it warms efficiently and circulates heat evenly through the curved interior. It also gives you the classic backyard sauna look. The tradeoff is slightly less headroom near the curved side walls compared to a cabin sauna.

Should I add the Cedar Bevel Roof kit?

Yes, if the sauna will sit uncovered outdoors. Western Red Cedar is naturally weather resistant, but barrel staves are not 100% waterproof. The Cedar Bevel Roof kit adds better rain, snow, and UV protection and is highly recommended for exposed placement.

Can I use it year-round in cold climates?

Yes. Premium Western Red Cedar handles cold weather and freeze-thaw cycles well. For year-round exposed outdoor use, add the Cedar Bevel Roof kit and place the sauna on a stable, well-draining base.

What foundation or base do I need?

The sauna needs a flat, level surface. Common choices are a concrete slab, paver patio, compacted gravel pad, or structurally sound deck. If you choose the XL size and plan to place it on a deck, confirm the deck load rating first.

How long does it take to heat up?

Typical warm-up time is 45-90 minutes depending on sauna size, target temperature, heater selection, and outside weather. The Regular size usually heats fastest because there is less air volume to heat.

Which heater should I choose?

Choose Harvia KIP with built-in controls if you want the simplest, most reliable setup. Choose Harvia KIP WiFi if you want app control. Choose HUUM Drop WiFi if you want the most design-forward heater with WiFi controls. You can also order the sauna without a heater.

What is included if I select a heater?

If you select a heater package, the electric sauna heater and sauna stones are included. Thermometer, bucket, ladle, and other accessories are not included.

What warranty does it include?

The Sweat Barrel includes a 3-year limited warranty backed by Sweat Kingdom and supported by Saunass.
