Golden Designs Catalonia 8 Person Near Zero EMF Far Infrared Sauna

The Catalonia runs on a single dedicated 240V / 30A circuit, the kind used for an electric dryer or range. Because it draws more power than a 120V outlet can supply, a certified electrician should install the 240V / 30A outlet and breaker. The outlet is non-GFCI, and the circuit should not be shared with other high-draw devices.

The cabin itself needs no building. The Catalonia arrives as a complete cabin, not a room kit, and a few people assemble it with most panels connecting by built-in buckle clasps. The one piece of electrical work is the wiring: the sauna runs on a single dedicated 240V / 30A circuit, so a certified electrician should install the 240V / 30A outlet and breaker. There is no framing, no insulation, and no plumbing.

The Catalonia uses 23 PureTech FAR infrared carbon heating panels positioned around the walls, under the benches, and on the floor. They are Near Zero EMF, which means electromagnetic field readings measure under 3 mG when taken 2 to 3 inches from the panels, near zero and well below many standard infrared heaters.

The ideal range is 118°F to 132°F, and the sauna can reach up to 140°F. FAR infrared warms your body directly instead of heating the air, so it feels effective at a lower air temperature than a traditional steam or stove sauna.

The Catalonia is a true 8-person sauna with removable benches, so it can double as a yoga or stretching studio, and the extra-wide door is wheelchair accessible. The exterior measures 87 in wide by 75 in deep by 87 in tall, so plan a dedicated spot in a basement, home gym, or studio.

Indoor use only. The Catalonia can sit on carpet or any indoor floor and works well in a basement, master bath, walk-in closet, bedroom, or fitness room. Leave a few inches of clearance around the cabin for airflow, and keep it within reach of a dedicated 240V / 30A outlet.

The Catalonia includes a Galaxy star chromotherapy color lighting system with interior reading lights, interior and exterior LED control panels, a Bluetooth and MP3 aux sound system with built-in speakers, and an extra-wide bronze-tinted tempered glass door that is wheelchair accessible. The cabin is built from natural reforested Canadian Hemlock, and the benches are removable so it can double as a yoga studio.

The Catalonia ships as nine cartons (about 1175 lb on the pallet) by freight carrier and is delivered curbside. It weighs around 920 lb assembled. It is backed by a 5-year warranty. Plan to have several people on hand to help move the cartons from the curb to the room where it will be set up.
